What We'll Be Doing
We'll enjoy the Schlitz Audubon Nature Center's beautiful outdoor sanctuary by helping the land stewards do fall planting and preparation. After volunteering at Schlitz Audubon Nature Center, we will meet for a few beers and a debrief at the old Pabst Brewery tavern, Best Place. The idea is to get together groups of community-minded individuals to make a difference and have fun while doing it.

What To Wear/Bring
Dress in layers. It can be pretty chilly right on Lake Michigan in the morning, but will heat up quickly if the weather is nice. Wear hiking boots or tennis shoes. Consider wearing pants to avoid scapes from plants and mosquito bites. You may also want to bring work gloves. Bring a reusable water bottle so you can stay well hydrated. And make sure you eat breakfast before you come.

Schlitz Audubon Nature Center's Mission
Schlitz Audubon Nature Center connects people with nature and inspires them to become responsible stewards of the natural world.

About the Schlitz Audubon Nature Center
The Schlitz Audubon Nature Center (SANC) is a 185-acre stretch of untouched land along the shore of Lake Michigan. Last year, more than 35,000 students from nearly 200 schools participated in hands-on natural science classes. Thousands of urban students shared in the discovery of the natural world around them. For many, their visit to the Schlitz Audubon Nature Center was the first time they came in contact with an expansive forest, living pond, and even Lake Michigan.

The Schlitz Audubon Nature Center has one of the only nature preschools in the country. Schlitz Audubon also has a LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) award green building with beautiful indoor and outdoor locations for green weddings, green meetings & retreats, and other special occasions.

Where We'll Meet After Volunteering
After volunteering at the Schlitz Audubon Nature Center, we'll head down to Best Place (901 W Juneau Ave, Milwaukee • MAP). Best Place is the newly restored, historic tavern in the visitor center of the former Pabst Brewery. The main bar is absolutly gorgeous, but it's a casual place we can hang out and have a few beers and hang out. The first Brenner Beer is on me. Best Place also has a full bar with cocktails, wine, soda, and lots of local beers.
